Policy Statement
The Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA) is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in any WSTA program, service, or activity on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

This policy is established in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and all other applicable federal nondiscrimination laws and authorities.
WSTA operates its services and programs in a manner that ensures fair and equitable access for all individuals and is committed to complying with all Title VI requirements.

Policy & Complaint Procedure
The Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA) complies with all applicable federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations and does not discriminate in the administration of its programs, services, or activities that receive federal financial assistance.

WSTA has established a formal Title VI complaint procedure for individuals who believe they have been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in any WSTA program, service, or activity.
Any person who believes they have been discriminated against may file a Title VI complaint with WSTA in accordance with the established complaint procedures.
Anyone who believes they have been discriminated against, denied benefits, or excluded from participation in any WSTA program or service due to Title VI covered issue may file a complaint with WSTA’s Title VI Manager

Complaints must be submitted in writing within 180 days of the alleged incident.

WSTA will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 10 calendar days.

While not required, use of WSTA’s Title VI Complaint Form is encouraged to ensure all relevant information is captured.

Accessibility & Assistance
Anti-Retaliation Policy
WSTA strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who files an Title VI complaint or participates in an investigation. Any suspected retaliation should be reported in writing to the Civil Rights Officer.
If dissatisfied with WSTA’s resolution, complainants may escalate the issue to:
